An Improved Lwr Method for On-line Aircraft Parameter Identification
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper we apply a recently introduced time domain parameter identification method to the estimation of the aerodynamic coefficients in aircraft systems. The method consists in improving the Local Weighted Regression (LWR) technique by adding a data Retention-and-Deletion (RD) strategy. The improvement comes with reduced computational effort since the two techniques can share their main computational procedures. The algorithm was tested using NASA F/A-18 HARV flight data, the results were compared with both the estimation obtained from wind tunnel data experiments and results provided by the Maximum Likelihood method. متن کاملAircraft Visual Identification by Neural Networks
In the present paper, an efficient method for three dimensional aircraft pattern recognition is introduced. In this method, a set of simple area based features extracted from silhouette of aerial vehicles are used to recognize an aircraft type from its optical or infrared images taken by a CCD camera or a FLIR sensor. These images can be taken from any direction and distance relative to the fly...

متن کاملThe Development of Maximum Likelihood Estimation Approaches for Adaptive Estimation of Free Speed and Critical Density in Vehicle Freeways
The performance of many traffic control strategies depends on how much the traffic flow models have been accurately calibrated. One of the most applicable traffic flow model in traffic control and management is LWR or METANET model. Practically, key parameters in LWR model, including free flow speed and critical density, are parameterized using flow and speed measurements gathered by inductive ...
